wow, they just came out yesterday. thanks.

driver remixes = LOL! subjective joyfulness.

Do you REALLY think that the people who build these packs have ANY idea how the drivers really work? I can load up Regedit with the best of 'em and change settings that you don't usually see too.

The people who design the hardware are the people who you should trust. They are slightly more in-the-know than some NV fan with a text editor.

They must have some idea if it gets me some more fps...

We tweak settings and test them to find the best balance of performance and image quality. It is actually quite time consuming to find out what all of the drivers' settings do, there are so many of them. LOL.

I must have installed and uninstalled 81.87 on my laptop 100+ times. LOL.

Yeah, sorry about that guys. This was my first installer attempt. LOL. The next version has it fixed, and I would like to upload a new version, that has all of that fixed, but I just don't have the time with work and school finals coming up .

I just tested these out, and i must say there was definately an increase in image quality without a performance hit, which is impressive in my book.
i was using the laptopvideo2go 81.84's before this.
i only tested it on CS:S thus far.. it achieved the same amount of fps in the stress test, ran just as smooth in game play, but as i said... looks nicer.
good work GeForceTony.

i think the xg drivers run a little better than the nv 8187s. better = more stable fps. css vst scored about the same, but in game, things seem smoother. now is sm3 still turned off in the xg drivers?
It seems lately that the XG drivers deliver an ever-so-slight (emphasis on slight) drop in performance, but have much better Image Quality than stock ForceWare drivers.

As far as the SM3.0 being disabled, I have no knowledge of that at all, and I believe that to be a myth... Where did you happen to hear that?
I just chatted with Daishi (one of the "founders" of TweaksRUs), and he said that SM3.0 was disabled WAY back with the Mobile INF (before I came into the picture, and took over the Mobile front ). Now, there is no override, or disabling of ANY Shader Model version on ANY card .

Yeah, and if anyone uses RivaTuner (like me), you would see that this is true. The only thing that is done that I noticed that is anywhere NEAR this, is that in the OpenGL version number override, it makes it 1.5 (it goes up to version 2.0?), whatever THAT does... The rumor is there because not only DID the XG drivers USED to disable it, but also other "tweaked" drivers (like NGO) do this for higher benchmark scores while sacrificing image quality.

I've tried pretty much all of them, and the Xtreme G's are the best if you care at all about image quality. If all you want is speed, then look elsewhere (NGO). If you want the best combination of image quality, while getting more-or-less the same (if not better) framerate, XG is the way to go. I for one am an IQ freak, so I go XG every time now.

It is just a tweak version of driver. If you choose the performance version driver. Go take a look. When you at 2D (desktop) it performace the same speed as it were in 3D game.

I will just using the regular driver instead....with the mod inf.
So let me get this right, the 2D and 3D settings (clock speeds) should be identical?

That's the same thing as the Installer that I will now use. Instead of having to download the ForceWare driver AND the modded INF (which was how it used to be) and replacing the stock INF with my modded version, all you have to is download the custom installer (which is compressed better, and is usually smaller in size ), and run it. Just like you would for your desktop .

It makes things easier, and we don't have complaints of people not knowing what to do, and wondering why NVIDIA's installer says that there is no compatible hardware found :P .

Tight work GeFTony. Props
Looking forward to trying them tonight when I get home from work.

I'm using the 80.40's which I hate.
Ewww... The 80.40's are absolutely aweful. Next to 81.26, those are the worst 80-Series drivers out there so far . 81.87 is BY FAR the best you can get at the moment, so do give them a shot .

Yeah man, what the hell are you doing with those POS's?!? 81.87's are so good to me, that is why I decided to post about them all over. 81.84 and 81.85 were pretty good too, but these are the best yet. Give 'em a try, you won't regret it! Also, earlier today I tried out the "Lost Coast" HDR demo level thingy for Half-Life 2, and HOLY CRAP Batman!!! Playing that with the XG drivers, at 1920x1200, 16xAF, 4xAA, everything on highest, is simply stunning...

let us know how it goes, and if possible, compare it to other drivers please.

There is no comparison to other drivers :-P ...

Just out of curiosity, how are these drivers for overclocking?

I plan to do that asap.
