I apologize in advance if this was already mentioned, I just didn't have 20 minutes to search through all the old articles. I've had my Ferrari for over 2 months and have had no problem with the fan. I thought everyone on here was just very picky. But I've been having a problem with my screen, it kind of flickers every once and a while (not black just as if its changing the lcd brightness from 100% to 95% and back a few times really fast) It happens on battery and AC. I tried uninstalling the Omega Drivers and using the mobility modder for Cat. 5.10, same problem. Then I tried installing the drivers off of Acers site, same problem. So I decided to download the eManager, and its a little better. While I was in eManager I found the option for Fan Always On, so I clicked it and wow my fan turned up and that is kinda loud. So I unchecked it and hit apply and it went right back to normal, quiet. That was probably already mentioned somewhere, but make sure you have this driver installed http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/cont...ies/amdcpu.exe otherwise your fan will always be on high because your processor will be putting out 2 GHz 24/7. I just realised how long this is and I apologize in advance. Hope that helps someone and if you know any way to stop my screen from 'flickering' that would be a great help.

My girlfriend just bought a Siemens Centrino laptop and that machine is whisper quiet, even if you put your ear next to it. I can still hear my ferrari without "Fan always on." @ 800MHz ( power management is set to "Portable / Laptop" ) with music on, so I don't think we are being picky. It's just not normal for a 1800$ to be that loud. The driver you suggested is also installed.
