Congrats ewolff, very, very nice machine. A savvy config also...you put your money where your mouth is...your review will likely be the first of the new 5700s on NBF and I look forward to it!

Immediately upon the 5700 debut, some here have been acting like middle age bittys at Mervins on Christmas eve. It's actually painful to read most of it.

Still in phase 1. I don't expect any movement for awhile as the expected ship date when I ordered was December 5th. I checked the configurator a little awhile ago and my system now costs 175.00 more than it did yesterday. When I ordered, the XP Pro upgrade was half of what it usually costs, and upgrading from 40gb to 80gb was cheaper than upgrading from 40gb to 60gb.

Sounds like you got a real good deal then. They should honor the Configurator 'glitches'...I hope.

Yeah, i'm good to go. Once you check out your price is locked in. And I have a month to watch for price changes. If there is a significant drop in price I may jump on it, but then I would have to give up my place near the front of the line. I wonder how many people are ahead of me?

Congratulations! Hope the phase game eases up on you!

Good for you..... I am going to wait to see the smaller notebooks before I order. I'm getting old, and I like to travel light. The gang at AW could not give me a release date, but I figure that I have time since these other models will not ship until Dec. If I have not seen anything by the end of this month, then I may just get a 5500.

Thats what Phase Three means ewolff and aurora the progress bar is stuck at 98%. I've been watching it for a while now and it never moves. What Up With That?

A roll out at this time of year...the Phase Game for you is likely to be 'short'. Surely Alienware had one or two 5700s waiting to build/ship for Christmas...and don't call me Shirley.
