Warranty paid off??? - Page 2

Read the warranty very carefully and call them with questions you may have. Some of the Lemon-Policies will state they will replace the defective part if they attempted to repair it so many times. Key wording in some is that they will not replace the whole unit, theydon't comeout and say that, theyjust word itas replace parts or component. Now in common practice they will not repair the defective parts they just replace them anyways so their lemon-policy is something they do all the time.

Usually a warranty via a manufacturer will result in better service since they have parts at their disposal.

Well, that makes sense. What do I need to do if I want to buy the warranty from official Toshiba site? Let's say I have just bought Toshiba laptop in some on-line store. What do I need to do to buy the warranty from Toshiba directly? Do I need any documents or any other stuff?

My Toshiba's gave me an option when I first got on the internet to register the system to get their warranty. If you already registered it, give the support line a call.... I'm sure they'll be happy to help you.

I always went through my work to get them as they were so cheap, so I don't have any experience as to how go the inhouse Toshiba warranties are.

Hi ChadLittle,

Actually, I haven't even purchased the laptop because I am waiting for Thanksgiving discounts but I decided to find out what I need in advance to avoid any rush then. Well, I checked their web-site right now, it looks pretty straightforward that I just buy the extended service plan and choose that I have already purchased the laptop. Then I fill in the serial number and date of purchase and it should work. Looks fine for me Thank you.

The newest toshibas are not have the quality like oldest models.
have a problem is only a time cuestion. And a lot of mony spend
The most common notebooks problems are expensive.
A System Board cost a half machine price.... and is the same with the screen.....
If you have protect your investiment and you have a money... IS A VERY GOOD IDEA BUY A EXTEND WARANTY....
In fact Is not a warranty you may think this is like a Insurance.
don't trust in your lucky .... You have more posibiliti to need that you are thinking.
A know it for a personal experience.... I use the warranty service in the first year and in the second year need e service for other piece.... but I DONT BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY.... AND THE PROBLEM IS IN THE SYSTEM BOARD.... THE SOLUTION COST TODAY THE SAME PRICE like a idem USED MACHINE...

Extended warranty

I think an extended warranty is a must for any laptop. I am a computer technician an know how to repair laptops, but prices for laptop parts out of warranty are insane. Today I quoted to my customer over $400 for a new system board for his 3 years old Compaq laptop. That is crazy! I always buy an extended warranty for my laptops.
About 4 years ago I bought Toshiba Satellite 1800 in Best Buy and paid over $300 for 3 years warranty. During the warranty period my laptop was repaired 3 times and when it was broke again I requested a refund. Thanks to “No Lemon” policy I got my money back and was able to buy a new laptop

I agree... always get the extended warranty - but also, if you live close enough to a premiere service centre, get the Toshiba extended over anything like BB or FS, or London Drugs.....

My machine went down 3 times in the last 6 months of the extended... I essentially got new internal everything, multiple times. It's worth the money.
