Now if only someone could translate it and say what's new in it.

It looks exactly the same except for the white keyboard compared to the black. They probably just upped the processor to sonoma. A rough translation (used babelfish) of the top paragraph reads:

"With the color where the satin silver and the Arctic silver settle stylish, to new stage. Optical drive standard loading. 12.1 inch clear wide liquid crystal which is suited for the viewing DVD and the like. The B5 wide size where it does not choose indoor outdoor, carries and can enjoy, stylish Mobile PC."

lol, that doesnt really tell us anything though.

It's also available in Hongkong.

This one needs no translation.

Yawn! Dell's latest offerings are really letdowns... guess we have to wait til January/February to see something new and exciting... maybe.

Looks like the keyboard size isnt fixed. I am adjusted to my 700m keyboard, but real, standard keyboards feel awkward now. I look at my 700m and see that it's poorly designed. There is still room for hte screen to be a bit bigger and so much more space for the keyboard. Stupid Dell... I wish they had fixed this issue w/ the 710

nice they made one of the ram slots unaccessible to the user????

It is accessible once the pretty white keyboard is removed...same as the 700m.

Surprised at that, thought at least it would be updated to the 915.

Wow, so all those people who were waiting for the 710m ended up waiting for a notebook that's exactly the same as the 700m except the keyboard is a different color?

The real winners here are the people who didn't wait and got 700m's at great discounts when Dell was still doing those good coupons.

yeah i agree. dell is really upsetting lately. the 6000 was a stellar creation by dell when it came out. with the 1.5ghz's pinmodding to 2.0, that was another $600 saving right there. and then the 750 off 1500.. it was a crazy deal

but i guess we all saw it coming since the 710m was referenced in the 700m bios update that there would be no way it would support sonoma since it's restricted to 855gm.

upsetting. that's what steered me away from the 700m. now the 630m... if that didnt have only integrated graphics, itd be a wonderful laptop from the way it seems.

Thank goodness my 700m doesn't have that nasty looking white keyboard. Ugh...

I have heard from an inside source (who actually has one of these 710's) that the only update is the gpu - it is no longer integrated (that is still there, though). They have added an Nvidia 7800 with 512 megs of ram and OC'ed to 800 mhz (the core clock, that is. Not sure about the memory). I think that's what he said, anyway.

Yeah is your "inside source" the people in your head?

It reminds me of an Apple laptop. Cute!

why is on one keyboard..the space bar is longer than the other? the enter key is bigger than the other?

That white keyboard is just ugly. I mean, the white trim around the silver was already ugly, and now they've added the white keyboard. That's bad.

You need to come up with better jokes.
