Installing Windows Vista build 5231 on 9300

I really wanna install this and play with it for a day or two but I'm nervous. I have already burned the ISO i just need to install it. My question is can I just install it right ontop of XP? Once I'm done fiddling with it how do I revert back and will it mess anything up? If someone could settle my qualms about giving it a test run that'd be awsome. Thanks in advance.

Do not install it over your current copy of XP. This is beta and isnt even close to anything usable. Your best bet would be to create a new partition and install it there. Vista will automatically set up dual boot with XP and Vista.

Remember though this is a beta. I have 5231 installed on my system with a dual boot (check sig) and I have no sound and only wireless internet works. You also wont be able to install many programs or games because they wont be stable.

Use VMware if you've got it. Easiest solution there is for trying out new OS's.

partion magic and install there and use the PM utility to set a boot option

alright guys im using partition magic to creat a partition and ill install it there. ive never used it before but im sure its self explanitory and hopefully setting up dual boot with it is easy too ill report on the wuxga status when i get through the process.

i inistalled partition magic but after looking at the instructions it looks like i need bootmagic to dual boot xp and vista. couple problems bootmagic wont install because something about me not using FAT32. I just want to make a partition, install vista beta and be able to select which one i want to run on startup is there another way?
