notebook "hdd" clicking and wont boot

hi, my ibm travelstar hardrive started clickin&clunckin and wont boot. can i open it and tighten something?? i get the BSOD. saying something like, can't mount bootable disk.?? any ideas?? thanks Snowshuttle

It died, would be my opinion. That's the normal behavior - or it just doesn't work and doesn't make and sounds. Try getting the DOS diagnostics routinefrom their website and then see what that reveals - normally, this is a necessary step prior to acomplishing an RMA.
