soon to be 5720 owner
Referring to the heat problem I'm having. Sager said that because it is new, they would first troubleshoot it internally and then contact vendors who would in turn contact 5720 owners to ask if they've experienced similar problems.

I hope they simply give me a new one...

How long was it between the "building" and the "shipped" phases?

Two days.

Maybe they are just really backed up with orders, but I expected a greater efficiency from PCTorque than what I've see. I ordered 10-26, payment was "received" on 11-4, and then it takes them three business days to clear a cashier's check before they start building, and who knows how long that will actually take.

I'm giving a major presentation this Tuesday, and I had faith in PCTorque to get my 5720 to me by now, but now it looks like I won't even have it before my presentation.

Generally, I'm just disappointed because I expected better.

Really, we have to prove it to you and with a screen shot, would you like to have it displaying at the end of the sig ? Perhaps a cup of coffee with it while you admire his score. I suppose his 6800 mark is also wrong, like a screen shot of that as well....?

This is getting rather perdantic now.

BTW fidge is not the only reporting > 7000 on the 3dmark05 with the 81.xx drivers...

So you are majorly disappointed that you sent a check by snail mail and delayed your order... If you had wanted you order to ship urgently one would think that you would have paid by credit or simply dropped the payment at a local Bank of America into our account. In both cases payment is instant, I am not sure why you are hold us responsible for your choice of pretty well the slowest payment meathod we offer.

WAIT! That was not mentioned anywhere! I've got those all over the place here. When I called, I had to asked the rep "do you accept ___" in order to be told. "What payment methods do you accept?" did not give me this helpful extra information.

I recognize the flaws of USPS, but what disappoints me is that it took four calendar days for PCT to actually start building my computer from when they received my cashier's check, which is basically instant cash.

For future customers, please list your payment methods that you accept. The site's current list is hardly complete.

I dont know where the confusion is here...when you go through the checkout process on pctorque's site.....it asks for payment method and gives you 3 choices! Cash/Credit/Credit multiple cards

Exactly....

First of all, I think that I need to apologize for the attitude behind my writing. I haven't been handling some of my stress very well recently, and so I haven't been a good Christian in the way that I've treated PCTorque, and more specifically, Luke.

I got my tracking number for the computer. And in compliance with Murphy's Law, the computer will arrive the day of my presentation ... two hours after it. I can only hope and pray for a miracle to get the computer to me the day before.

Here's hoping for a miracle.
Maybe this is the miracle here. AiG is letting me borrow a cute 12" PowerBook. I love Keynote, so this will work good.

But 12" compared to 17"? This could be painful.

YAY! I got my Sager 5720!!! UPS came earlier than I expected.

Glad to hear it!

Is the bios and the hardware compatibility a constant issue among sager notebook lines?
