Are Sagers' Unreliable? - Page 2

re

I like sager so much Im on my third laptop. Ive had the 5680, loved it, had it for a little over a year with no problems. Sold it and bought a 9860, had one problem that was actually something I did. Besides that, no problems for a year. It was a little big for me so I sold it and bought the 5320 which Im using now. Just got it a few days ago and love it. Light, decent battery power, plays games great. My only complaint with sager, and not pctorque is when I sent my 9860 to get repaired it came back dirty and with scratches on the case. I was pretty annoyed by this and pctorque actually offered to replace the case cover for free.

Thanks for the encouragement AndyCrosset. I wont be picking my computer up until mid december because I want too see what the 9750 looks like and what kind of price tag it will have.

I kinda of dont want to have to buy another laptop for about 2 to 3 years, so the AMD 64 bit with a 7800 GTX sounds like a good way too future proof myself. Thanks again.

Well I have had my 8790 since they were first released, and other than a video problem (caused by me yesterday) this is the most trouble free laptop I have ever owned an im very satisfied with my purchase.

I may upgrade to a 9880, but I have come back here looking for advice on the new lappy and the feasability of it.

Personally, I can tell you that the sager np5690 has very poor build quality, mainly the hinge, which leads to pretty severe cracking if not addressed, although there is no really desirable solution (either strap some steel on it, or keep replacing the back cover every few months). It has been excellent in all other areas. Crappy battery life, but I knew that going in.

I can't speak to any other Sager model, but I am veeery leery now of any laptop from sager because of the hinge thing.
