received go 7800 GTX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Page 20

Look, installing this card is the easiest thing in the world. I would have taken pictures but there's no need since Dell's service manual for the XPS 2 does a great job already.

It took me 25 minutes of unscrewing little screws and screwing them back in again to upgrade the card, that's it. Installing it yourself does not void your warranty but don't believe me, call Dell. When Dell sends you genuine Dell parts to swap with your PC it remains under warranty whether you or a tech does it, that's the way it has always been with them. I replaced a CDRom in a desktop back in 1996 with one they sent me (old one broke) and that didn't void my warranty all the way back then either.

Get a clean flat surface ready, spread out a towel, get a small and slim Philips head screwdriver (a flat head helps with the key bezel) and go to town. I'm typing on mine right now, after a round of Battlefront 2 which I gained nearly 22 very noticeable fps in, I might add

I recieved mine too -- no prbo with the install, and a nice increase in performance!!!

Getting a card to OC is just the luck of the draw either you get one that does or you don't

There seems to be some problem with these things. I just got my second one in, first one was ao1 rev and this one was ao2 rev.......both said unknown adapter on my laptop. I'm starting to get pissed. My friends adapter looks exactly like the one I just got and his works on mine (he has 6 month old xps gen 2). Nobody else with a 9300 seems to be having this problem.
I was following this thread, but dont want to scan 27 pages. Can anyone tell me how with a 9300 I can get the 7800gtx. I heard a rumor that you needed an xps serial number to order the 7800 now. Am I SCCCCREEWed or can you still just call up and order???

Just order it, and tell them you bought an XPS on Ebay with no serial, and that you just want parts because it was broken (the one you bought off of Ebay) Or just keep reffering to your Customer number all the time to the Dell Reps. You'll be able to get it, at least I did, and that's how I did it.
