Svideo on 9880

My 9880 came with a cable; on one end it has an Svideo connection and then on the other end it has a blue, red, green, (and another svideo). What is this cable for? It looks like a converter cable of some sort perhaps to convert svideo (out) to a "lesser" form of component video perhaps?

Also, where can I get a cable to utilize the S/PDIF out on the 9880 to hook up to a digital stereo receiver?

that cable is for RBG compatible TV's where u have special slots for them in TV. Each represents a color(red, blue, green). This is supposed to give higher detail in color wen used.

I think I figured that out as you stated. It's for component connections and is as I stated in the original post, perhaps a stripped down version of component video. I figure this cuz the port on my 9880 is svideo, not component. And since component is a step about svideo (as is HDMI), it's got to be doing some sort of down conversion, but perhaps not true RGB component video. I found that if I plugged in one of those three to an RCA jack on the back of my vcr, one of the three produced a b/w picture while the other two produced no picture at all. So, I outputted the video on my laptop using b/w since it was only an episode missed by the vcr and my laptop had it.
Thank you for your input!
