Hi

I just went through something similar with my Dell W1700 lcd tv/monitor. It was a bad backlight inverter.

Got a new one from www.lcdpart.com and a neghbor helped me install it.

I got pictures again. Had been listening to television for six weeks.

I would suggest folks looking for a lcd tv/monitor that Samsung looks really good and has a three year warranty. Forget Dell.

If you've got your screen apart, check out the backlight inverter.

Hope this helps

Disassembly file availiable...

You are at a cross roads, inverter board or screen, where do you start now? May I suggest a downloadable pdf file that will direct you part by part on how to disassemble the Sager 888x Series Laptops. The inverter board is not located in the screen section, so further disassembly may be required. Its free. Just scroll down to the bottom of this page.
http://www.store.yourcoloradosprings.com/sager/ There are also some used parts for your 888x series machine. I know there is a panel and an inverter board still left. Good Luck!
