Strange noise in Ferrari 4005 ac/dc adapter

Hi all,

After five days with my Ferrari 4005 I noticed a strange noise inside the ac/dc adapter. The noise is hearable with the adapter hooked to the power line and even with the notebook turned off (you need to get your ear close to the adapter to hear the noise). When I turn the notebook up the noise gets much louder and after some minutes it stops. Does this happen to your ac/dc adapters?

I'm worried about the noise because I already heard it once: when the jack plug of my TV set had a bad contact. The TV worked but if I touched the plug it would turn off. I really hope I didn't get a in-the-future fault ac/dc adapter.

Mines doing this to but only a few second after you plug it in I am not sure why either. ANd I do not want to disasemmble it and see since it is still in warrenty.

I used the support for UK. I believe that each region has its own support page.

I hear a noise too, but only when I first connect the power supply to the notebook.

Almost sounds like an arching noise.
But goes away a few seconds later.

My power supply says: "LI SHIN INTERNATIONAL ENTERPRISE CORP." on the top.

Power Adapter Problems

I've recently been having the same problems with my Ferrari. I'm getting a loud whizzing sound coming from my adapter whenever i connect it to the power supply and the adapter heats up so much that I can barely touch it in my palms for more than 5 seconds. This is weird, dunno if it would affect the laptop in anyway. Sometimes there is no problem but more often of late its been happening all the time. I dunno if its a problem with the adapter or the power sockets in my appartment. Anyways I gave ACER PANAM Customer Support a call today, and the as soon as I said, I was having a problem with the adapter, the Rep said he was going to ship one out right today, he didnt even give me time to explain what exactly was the problem. Either this is amazing customer service or its a common occurence !

The buzzing noise? I had that problem with the LiteOn adapter. It doesn't give a full charge even when the light turns green the battery was 80% charged. I called Acer Support and the guy understood what was wrong and sent me a new one right away so I'm guessing a lot of people had this problem. They sent me the Li Shin adapter and no problems anymore... so I'm wondering if it's the LiteOn adapter screwing up?
