If you clickon the User CP on the bar at the top of the page it will take you to your rep page that has postive and negative reps on it. You can give out reps once you hit 100 posts, but can receive reps long before that. To give a rep you click on the scales under the user name and avatar on the post you want to comment on. This thread is a rep whoring thread where we all have agreed to give reps to people on the list and get high rep counts and really colorful dots under our names. Its all a pointless juvenille thing, but we have fun with it. I think that covers the basics of repping.

I Hate Alienware!

For all of you guys that own Alienware, Im sorry, i bought a 7700 notebook about a year ago and it was good all up until the warranty ended. My warranty was up Feb. 25th, 06. Before my warranty went up, i had a problem with my computer, the screen wouldnt turn on. So i called alienware and they lead me through a bunch of things to try and get working but none of it worked so they said i had to send it back to the company to have repairs done to it, Right? So I put it in the alienware box and have it sent back, then they kept telling me that my computer was being diagnosed 2 1/2 weeks after they have gotten it, and told me that i wont get it back until a 4 week businuss period. So im like WTF, it doesnt take that long to diagnos a computer and ship it back, well i ended up getting it like 2 days after i called. I opened it up and set it up and everything. Everything on my harddrive was still there, even when i told them to earase everything. So it worked alright for like a day then i went to do the respawn & recovery disk, i did everything the way i was suppose to do and when i went to restart the computer it gave me a message that the operating system could not be found. So now im pissed. After throwing some things around the room, i decided to take it to my instructor cause he builds and programs computer and all. So i take it to him, and he said that when he openned it up he said when alienware tightened down the harddrive, they tightned it down to much, and it wasnt allowing it to breath or something. So the hard drive burnned up. So now im even more pissed. Then he said a new hard drive would cost about $115, and im broke as a joke (college student) so he sent for the part and got it back and installed it. Got it back to me and everything worked fine....Untill this morning when i woke up, i got the same message again. I took it to my instructor for him to find out what happened, and hes gonna get back to me later about it.
Im so furious with alienware right now, when the first incident happened i called them up to talk to someone about why my computer was sent back to me in a worse condition what it was sent to them in, and they told me that my warranty was up on the 25th of Feb. and that they couldnt do anything about it...this is where i let loose. I was swearing up a storm, they guy on the phone told me that if i didnt calm down that he was gonna terminate the call, then i told him to go himself and that i would never buy from alienware ever again.
I then called them a different day after my computer was fixed to talk to someone higher up like a manager or someone. Then they said the same thing about my warranty being up, so i said alright then if i cant talk to anyone higher up maybe the Better Business Beruea would. And the guy on the phone is like....Excuse me? And i said, I HATE alienware, I hate them with a passion, i will never buy from you or recommend you to anyone...and like i said im taking this to the BBB, thank you, have a nice day.
Im writing this to tell you guys about my bad experience about alienware, and how there customer support or anything about them isnt even an A on the report card. If your gonna buy a computer build your own or buy a dell.
