Comparing to a real life situation with a group of friends, if some random came in the middle of a conversation in an unfriendly manner I'd consider that rude or 'disgusting'.
Thats my opinion of the matter, and I never said anything out of order in the thread in question.

I agree Fpad...
I know I'm a lightning rod for conflicts, but I'm very careful to usually only return the attitude I'm given, though whether I've been successful is a matter of opinion. It's my belief that the string in question was exacerbated by a few trolls that posted things like "Dude, you own a Dell" to Alienware customers that has absolutely no value whatsoever to anyone other than the trolls that are trying to cause problems.
This is the AW section. We don't go to other sections to cause problems, and we welcome those from other sections that are here for reasons other than to cause problems. I find it very difficult to swallow AW forum members being blamed for responding to immature invasions of morons with nothing other on their minds than looking like heroes to their fellow trolls.
I'm also very tired of the momos that speak from a position of authority when they clearly don't have a clue about hardware, either what they own or what Alienware sells.
If in fact we're expected to sit by while these trolls shit up our section with BS and not respond, then this clearly isn't the forum for me.
I don't understand this problem personally, as Dell has posted notice that anyone from their section coming in here to troll and cause conflicts will be banned. I can see several examples from the string in question that IMO should result in bans for people from other sections.
Having said that, there were Dell people in that string that didn't bring the attitude, and we were able to have a decent exchange. There are members of this section that own Dell products that don't feel the need to be pricks.
Craig has always been truthful and helpful to me, and generally I think we've seen these situations eye to eye, so there must be things going on behind the scenes that we aren't privvy to. I think it's likely that this string has generated a lot of interest, not only from different sections of this forum, but from the web as well. If that's the case, I can understand that the powers that be here would be upset that this string would represent the community to outsiders, but the solution to that should have been to spank the people causing the problems, not the regular members of this section.
For the time being I think we should do as Craig asks, wait to get a response from AW or Dell regarding the issue, then procede to deal with Rahul Sood's blather as is warranted.
