In the main Display Properties/Settings tab, do you have two monitors listed in the drop down, under "display" ?

in other words, I'm saying try to dumb-down the computer. Set it all the way back to default.

lettuce know how it works.

OHHHHH...thank you vm jay..reps to you!

tridge; thanks for that cool picture. i think i understand a bit better now. an actual photograph of it in action would be helpful also.

i seem to remember that i had problems with my display once, i think it was the video overlay settings i had been messing around with. i reset to default and i din't have stuttering in BF2.

lets see if this helps because, i have tweaked or touched myself after i recieved the machine...

yes, i said touched myself.

Tridge

Try this, in the screenshot I'm attaching, you need to get Display Properties up, goto Settings, goto Advanced, goto Troubleshooting and disable the 2 options I have clicked off there...Like set HW Accel to None and uncheck the box.

Save and restart.
Play the game...if it's fine, goto halfway on HW Accel, test again. If you can get to Full then try enabling write-combining and test.

Let us know how that goes.

I simply cannot wait any longer. I was told that I would get a refund -15% restocking fee. I thought this was crazy

They refused to let me talk to a supervisor or a manager

Overall, I am glad I am squared away now. Hopefully my refund will come swiftly and I can get another laptop so I can stop using my friends 12" ibook.....

He had me do the regular old crap you would tell anyone to try.

I have learned how things work. Here it is: I have owned about 5 pc laptops and about 5 pc desktops. They have all had terrible problems and not been dependent at all....

12 days isn't bad for repairs if that REALLY is the true amount of time it would take.

Dell was terrible as well.

I get random problems. And it is so strange because my friend and I always build the exact same pc. We will both do it together, so they are exactly the same. .... mine always has problems and his is always fine... just makes no sense.

I wouldn't say that I am really mad with aw.... As I told AW Steve this came at a bad time for me.

its on its way to the depot.....
i am sure I will get it back after new years....
It still probably won't work....

After talking with AW for over a month regarding the situation, they have finally decided to give me a full refund since I never really got the laptop.

This just sounded very fishy. You usually hear this from a company that is going under and wants to hold onto the money it currently has until the end.... a few weeks from now

So, I called my bank and they as well thought it was extremely weird.

Afterall, AW had agreed to refund the money. They just wanted to wait about 3 weeks.

I would deffinitly NOT reccomend alienware for any product.

But the fact is that a higher percentage of their machines do not work at all.

With all this being said.....Buyer Beware

Note: I am not just wanting to bash AW. Something has terribly gone wrong with the company

It was a very strong running machine, and the few times I called customer service all my problems were answered.

What do you mean I don't have an aw....
I had one for one day and it blew up.

I have put aside the fact that they screwed me over by not shipping out another working new unit.

I honestly do not know how alienware has come as far as they have.

Computers are not like cars, they all use the same parts you can buy at your local computer store. I am not bashing alienware, I know all computer companies have these same issues with repairs.

I just think it is funny when people act like complete fanboys and try to defend alienware customer service.

Everytime I call or get a call, it is some new person who is "in charge of my issue," they never really know what is going on with my laptop, and often they can hardly speak english. It truly is sad.

All I know is I paid for a high quality laptop about two months ago and have never received it and apparently aw doesn't care.

at first i had trouble contacting aw. I called on 3 different occasions with no success. my phone battery kept dying i was on hold for so long. finally once i got ahold of someone they were no help, didn't listen to my problem,
ok. first he says he got the laptop and it "blew up" then he states that when he had problems with it they got resolved by CS...if it blew up on the second day..? im confused...

now he says he never recived the system...

his friend bought the same machine? with same specs??

...it just doesnt end with this kid...

EDIT: in one of his posts he goes on to bitch about the better business beureo* BBB about how he told on alienware and they said they could not do anything about it cause alienware has so many complaints...then he made a fake reply email to himself from the BBB....saying all this...

CALLOUT FOR ADMINS TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PLEASE.

hahahah. yeah tridge, that's a little too much information.

if you eat healthy, your flatulence should have a more natural odor; instead of indian food in a dirty diaper, it may resemble rich mahogany
