that was a hug change... there wont be another like that for a little while.. however is always a good idea to be aware of coming tech.

DX10 cards are the next step... maybe by end of calendar year? but honestly there will be no performance gain until Vista is released and is in full flight... and even then... games will be made for the majority of the market.. so that would be DX9 - 9c .. dont get me wrong.. they will support 10 but i doubt very much it will have much impact for at least 18 months (from now)...


Other than that there are always new cards / revisions being made...

But nothing on the books atm quite like the jump from single to SLi (quad sli etc doesnt count cause it still operates on Sli theory lol)

Pants, I think it just boils down to wanting the latest and greatest. You can chase it, but you're never gonna catch it. In fact, if AW offered a crossfire in anything but ALX, I'd probably get it.

Yep, it's my hobby . If I was to build a whole new one (and will), I'd wait for at least another 6 months or more to see how all the new tech shakes out. But waiting isn't a word I've learned yet . Smart, hell no, but sure is fun . I also couldn't pass up the step-up program. Only cost $25 to go to quad sli. And I hope they start supporting it in their drivers soon, the leaked ones will work I guess in some games.
