Just had a bad couple rounds on bf2142 with some fierce lag.
She's lucky to have you dude...

Hey everyone. It's been a while. Someone at work asked me if there is a way to have two different desktop backgrounds on a dual monitor setup, so I thought I might bounce it off you folks. Thanks

Hello Flapjacks and Thrill

Flapjacks, I've never really messed with dual monitors so I'm not sure...maybe someone else here has more experience and knowledge about them.

Yes, there is.

You can try installing a program that would allow it, there are various out, but there is another "1337" method without having to install anything on Windows XP:

You will first need to plug the two monitors to the computer and span the view across both monitors, this will not work on clone mode:

- Right click the Windows desktop, then select Properties.

- Locate the Desktop Tab and click on it.

- At the bottom of the Desktop Tab click the Customize Desktop button.

- In the Desktop Items window that just popped up go to the Web Tab.

- Click the New button on the right of the window and select the secondary wallpaper you wish to put on the second monitor.

- Select OK, then select OK again on the Web Window and Apply on the Desktop Window. The selected wallpaper picture should be on the main screen.

- Drag the image over to the other screen by selecting the top of the window, pretty much like dragging a standard window, and select Cover Desktop at the top left of the image.

Right click and select Arrange By and then "Lock web items on desktop." Then you can simply select a standard desktop image for your primary display as you always have. The web object (secondary wallpaper) on the second monitor will remain as the "main" wallpaper image while the first monitor will display the image you just selected.

Hope this helps.

Morning all, hope everyone fares well. Been busy this last week, I think I have had a total of 2 days off since the 8th of January.

Cool tip Doc, I'll have to play with that when I get home this weekend.

Hey Murph, sounds like you've been busy

Thanks for the info Dock

Yep, I used some of my vacation to help my GF's brother with his 2 car shows. Both shows I worked 16-18 hours a day for 5 days in a row, and continuing with my regular job in the mean time.

My poor online gaming buddies have been wondering what's happened to me.

I bet the car show was exhausting, but fun.

You should check out the StrafeRight forums sometimes, it's the gaming side of NBF. There is a pretty good set of people over there.

Yep, it is a lot of fun really, just long tiring days on your feet all the time. I spent a good amount of time out in the rain, but I had my goretex gear from when I was in the service to keep me dry.

I got to meet guys like James Hetfeild and Rick Door (Rick built James' car) and Chip Foose from Overhaulin and so on, so it was cool to be involved in all of it.

It isn't all fun though, I had to run around and collect money from vendors that used services they didn't pay for up front, and some of them get a little upset when you tell them you need more money. I just cracked me up to have a guy with a GIGANTIC neon sign in front of his booth and he didn't pay for the electricity up front, and was surprised when I walked up to tell him he owed more money for it. Especially when it is right on their application to pay for power.

I'll have to make my way over to sR and check it out when I have a chance.

Awesome, James Hefeild...wow. Chip Foose is a helluva artist, it amazes me with what he comes up with.

What is amazing is watching Chip Foose sign autographs. He will sometimes draw a car from memory as part of the autograph and he can crank them out in seconds. All he is using is a sharpie on a peice of paper or a t-shirt or whatever else you give him. I watched him sign someones shoe on Sunday.

Wow, that's cool...did you get one?

He's a really talented guy and seems genuinely nice from the shows I've seen.
