Know you got some good stories too. Care to share just a schnippet of one? How did you get so close to the walrus?!? and why would you get so close to the bear!?! Take your pick... Like pulling teeth all down up in here!

Shot the bird from the side of the boat. Didn't have much to do for the first two days other than practice shooting birds - even in the snow:

Not too many stories ... it was a pretty calm trip. Did get stuck in the ice one night (in the ship, that is).

For the close up walrus shots, we were literally about 10 ft away on the shore ... they swam right up to us - curious fellers. It was amazing. For the bear, we really weren't that close (40-50yds?), but used the telephoto lens, and I've cropped some of them which makes them look closer.

And, thanks mb - but not so much my photographic skills as just lots of great opportunities up close!

I woulda never guessed from the ship...figured helicopter. Sumptin eerie about the 'seagull' in the snow pix...

I've Got No Secrets...wasn't that a killer Jefferson Airplane song off of Surrealistic Pillow?

From the Liner Notes:

"There are obscure psychedelic groups from the 60's and there are obscure psychedelic groups from the '60s. With most of them, once you finally track down an album and listen to it, a lingering disappointment is all you get. Autosalvage is a little different..."

Sounding good to me and the liner notes are killer!!! Three pages of a full history of the band and review of their album. A page with the lyrics and a page or two of credits...nice front and back artwork also. I see why Frank Z. wanted to produce 'em...

Hey, speaking of muzak ... I downloaded the new stuff from Los Lonely Boys for the trip.

Wellllll, better see if I can get some sleep and get my clock tickin' to desert time. Take Care, and hope Dolly stays away!

Old stuff, but ya gotta crawl before you can walk! Glad to hear sumptin perked yer ears a few ago. Though I do believe you said you had already listened to Los Lonely Boyz before the flood...daughter is into the band?!?

Hope you turned all the Norwegians on to 'em!

As shazza has known for a while these guyz are a great band from Austin, TX...brothers three! A little on the Tejano side, but the Stratocaster is definitely there...maybe they'll show up with Carlos this Fall in the Woodlands, TX?
