Yeah Scott, flames came out when the turbo seal ruptured, pumping oil and coolant through the entire intake system. It went as far as to fill the air intake, flood the filter and coming pouring on the intake pipe itself. The engine automatically shut itself down so the flame went out as soon as I saw it. Today I heard rumors we broke a rod too, so now the question is: which failure came first? The rod or the turbo?
The engine has already been sent to our new powertrain building in Pontaic (the city) for teardown and failure analysis.
So we have a new four-banger to break! Got that all hooked up today.
