Update ... everything seems to be working fine. Even got it to boot and run with 4GB of memory, so another hurdle passed. Gotta spend some serious time on cable management and water cooling the NB and then the GPU. But, my goal this time is a working system. Looks are definitely not a consideration.

Glad to hear everybody's computers got tweaked this weekend, and running well. How much will that card cost mb67?

There's a 15.4" Asus on the Egg for about $1,400 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220379 that has a 9700M GT and loaded with Vista Home 64...

Looks like it may be a titch gaudy - haven't seen one in person. Throw a cooler under it and it would be a nice cheap platform. It's on my Christmas wish list if the Ol' Lady is reading this...

Got home from work early to take care of a few things, eat, shower and be at a Home Depot in Galveston by closing time (21:00). Working off a man lift up in the "red iron" tonite...

Hi boyd.

Well a replacement card will be about 185 Euros. I know, it will be coming from Europe, but MXM is selling cards on their website that fit the m5500. I am very tempted to do this once the warranty expired in Apr.

Dynamics and CAE (computer aided engineering) tests are next week.

My friends and I were talking, and we have 4 hours of class per week for 10 weeks. That's like learning all of calc 3 in a work week!!

Flu season is upon us...easier to go to work sick than go thru the changes the military puts you thru...huh mb67? Or does the USAF let you "call-in"?
