But if they move to an Intel chip, don't you think there may be more viruses?

It doesn't matter what processor it has, it is about the operating system.

Same here. I was looking at getting a dell laptop(planning to get it before x-mas) but then i got to thinking with the new intel(im confused, i thought it was new intel motherboards, but now people are saying stuff about CPUs too, is it motherboards and CPUs or just CPUs?) i was thinking that if i could get a mac laptop, and either be able to play games through a program like Cedega(Linux program) since the program would only have to emulate the OS it could be possible or i could install windows on it or dual boot windows, that i would buy one of the new Mac G4s.

But now the rumor is that its only the ibooks? I would want/need a powerbook, so that wouldn't really work, and i can't wait that long...

I just wanna see how they look!

From what I'm given to understand, Apple is going to wait for, I think it's Merom, to come out before introducing new PBs.

Here's some recent info, albeit still no specific launch date: http://www.channelregister.co.uk/200...ebook_roadmap/

Should we expect a significant amount of software bugs w/ the first gen mactels?
Software, probably not, hardware on the other hand...Apple doesn't quite get first revisions right.

But it's Intel doing the hardware, not Apple, right?

Intel are doing the Processor (and possibly the chipset - I have no idea) - apple are doing the rest, chassis, motherboard, so on and so forth.

There's also the issue of practically no intel apps.
