What eskimo said.

They need at least one revision with real world testing to get the major bugs out, then the next revision fixes most if not all, and by the third revision everything should be gangbusters.

i'm personally hoping the use of intel stuff will make any issue short lived. not that intel hasn't had their issues over the years, but the Pentium M family of products is pretty mature. only thing that can mess it up IMO, is Apple trying to engineer itself into a corner in the way of custom mobos.

PowerPC chips aren't mature? The first generation G4 PowerBooks had a lot of problems. It's not the chips or motherboards, it's just stuff that they can't take into account outside of a controlled environment that does them in. But, that's what you get when you try to keep things as secret as possible; people aren't allowed to take prototypes home to play with them and find the stuff that's only found after they're released.

Im typing on a first gen titanium G4, and ive never had any problems with it. Not only that, its been the most stable, and best laptop ive ever owned. The only thing im not happy with is now, 4 years later, its not capable of playing world of warcraft, so im going to get a new laptop to play some games. So im confident in the first gen product, though i don't really want to wait till April.

Ok, i just posted that i had no problems with my G4, just sicne my last post, the screen broke off. It doesn't have any support anymore, and it doesn't simply "pop" back in. It still works, but the screen has no stiffness. I duck-taped it up so that the screen stays upright... but its ****ed... im going to have to buy a new laptop now. I can't wait till April....
