Laptop choices

I've been thinking for a while about getting a laptop for university work, but I also want one that can handle almost anything I can put on it such as games like FarCry. While searching online I found a company that sells online through ebay that appears to have good prices. I have no previous experience with ebay but this company (ITBOX) seems reliable, has anyone had dealings with them? I live in Australia and am only willing to buy from here.

Can anyone tell me what the think of these two laptops. Apart from the graphics card they are fairly identical. I like the look of the E355(ITC Millennia 6400 series) better but was wondering whether it would be safer to go with the more well known Asus. I've also read the the Go6600 is better for modern games and more 'futureproof'-is this true?

P.S Also the E355 doesn't appear to have a latch to keep the screen closed, does anyone know whether it will stay closed when not in use

6600 and X700 are about even. there are arguements either way.

i would suggest ASUS for 2 reasons.
- better known brand name and quality
- better resolution

Don't they both have the same max resolution - 1280x800. Also does anyone know of any similarly speced and priced laptops?

What about the issue about the screens without a latch, are they spring loaded to stay closed or is there a button that locks the hindges?

EDIT
Can anyone else give a second opinion?
