try to download/send some files with other Device using Bluetooth protocol...
Mobile phone for instance...
I'm not sure, but when I did that I did not pressed Bluetooth Button to do that. If transmission fails, there might be a problem with devise itself....

just a thought
Are you running either Acer LaunchManager or ePowermanagement?
Check that the Launchmanager doesn't switch BT off (if you have an LM version of setting this) ad that your epowerprofile has BT enabled.

I have a question. What are the newest Widcomm Driver? Has anybody the Number of the Version? I want to change the Bluetooth-Driver on my Ferrari 4005! Thanks

Has nobody an idea? I searched on theacer webside for WIDCOMM-Driver for the ferrari, but there is nothing! I want to connect a BT-Headset, but with Microsoft-BT-Software impossible....

I've had the same problem as you guys. For some reason the problem accured after leaving my notebook unplugged for a long time (like couple of days).

When I had this problem I just waited and it "fixed itself". However, it always comes back every once in awhile.

I'm interested in a new version of widcomm drivers as well. It would be great if somebody could give us a link.

The newest at Acer is 5.0.1.1500
see ftp.acer-euro.com\notebooks
and look in the Aspire 9800 drivers folder

the newest available are the ones from IBM 5.0.1.2800
http://www-3.ibm.com/pc/support/site...cid=MIGR-61425

version 2500+ should resolve sound dropping prob;ems with headsets and bt mouse lag problems

For more details:
http://www.gsmhosting.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=237

the IBM version installed on my TM8106 wh any modifications and works. It should also work on Ferrari 400x (essentially just a lower quality 810x, isn't it)

cheers

The BT-Driver from the Aspire 9800 works on the Ferrari?
It's a generic package containing both win32 and win64 parts/directories and multilingual stuff.

Yes it should work on Ferrari as well as any other Acer machine! The only pitfall being how badly (or not) the system is messed up with attempts to modify Windows own BT drivers.

My impression is that Acer just dumps the package they receive from Broadcom(which owns Widcomm) on their website.

And probably the same for IBM since their package worked on my machine (TM8106) and also has the samewin64 and win32 parts.

So what do you guys suggest: should I install the older drivers from Acer's website or the newer ones from IBM for my 8104?
I would suggest:
First installing the Acer ones and see if it all works (be it with BT mouse and headphone problems).
At least you know taht it isn't a hardware or software problem after this (if it works)
thats version 1200 1400 or 1500

And only if it works trying the IBM ones to resolve the BT mouse lag and the sound dropping problems.
that's version 2800

the logitech ones may actually need patching because most probably logitech has only a license for their mouse thingy only. So their license.dat may instruct the installer to disable some other features (unlike Acer's and IBM's)

just my 2c
