Hypersonic EX7 Vs.Alienware Area-51m 7700

Thread Starter
i'm getting a gaming notebook for christmas so i can start shooting the crap out of people in counter strike lol i might even play starwars but i don't know what to choose because their all so tempting and the only difference in customizing them that i noticed what that in the EX7 you can get your own customized color and the Dell M170 you get a really cool cover w/ different neon lights built in and the alienware you get the standard grip color and cover and they both have the same customizing options. so what should i get? so far right now i'm thinkin of getting the Area-51m 7700 or the Dell M170 and here are the specs for the Area 51:

Now that AW finally has the 7800, it makes the choice harder. If I were not holding out for the AMD CPU and wanting some color in my life I would go AW. But either way you can't lose.

Funny thing at work

I had to have my Hype configed to my IT dept. VPN. I had the Alien wallpaper and desktop icons on it. They just look cooler than the reg windows icons and until Hype gets some will use these.

Anyway she starts looking at my Hype and was taken back by it looking just like a computer she just purchased. The custom paint threw her at first then when we booted up she said "Oh its an Alienware".

I corrected her I said it was a Hype, with Alien Desktops. It was the paint job that was still confusing her.

"But it looks just like mine?"

"You have a Alien??? I got to see it never seen one in person."

She goes picks it up, same case as Hypes, then I noticed a Alien Backpack (HUGE). She opens it up and there it was Alien head and all!!

Still had the screen plastic protector on it. It was purchased in order to "break it" because IT people need to do intensive tests before they make company purchasing recommendations. Anyway I told her they were both Clevos and I asked if that was the AMD chip, she didnt know so I asked when it was ordered and when did she get it and from that I said it was Intel.

So there on desk was a Hype and Alien machines. I wish I had a camera, will try to get them together again soon!!

Anyway I talked to the IT head and asked why Alien? It was to test. He saw my Hype (and since we are in NJ) told him they are on Long Island not far if we need to "visit". He took that into account.

He had some bad CS at Alien but said it wasnt his money they were playing with but had to do it for the research. They sent wrong packages, wrong software and a few other problems. But other than that so far Alien was working ok.

We both have the heat issue but as I have said here, use 2 soda caps and your good to go (Not bad for under $4).

So just a head up to Hype folks might be coming by for a "visit".
