Super Cheap Ram!!!!!!!

Thread Starter
I remember when all of us here thought $120 for a 1 GB stick of DDR-II 533 MHz Ram was cheap, well here it is again

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820208312

$81.99 for a 1 GB stick of DDR-II @ 533, but there is also a $10 mail in rebate so it is really $71.99 if you are one of the 8 people in the world who actually use mail in rebates.

Anyone buying a job lot of these? Any limit to the number you can buy of these?

I live in Australia and would happily pay $79.99 or even $85 with postage in a USPS Global Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope for $5 small or $9 large (both are big enough to sandwich in thin plywood for safety)

C'mon someone out there want to make a few bucks and we could do the deal over eBay with PayPal

Aussies are allowed to get goods up to $500 posted (not couriered like Fedex etc) to them customs duty free, so a few of these will easily make it under the limit.

I hear ya on that one. Even if they did, we'd get nailed on exchange and duties/tarrifs for the cross border shipping.

8 people + the other couple million from Fatwallet and Slickdeals and all the other hot deal sites and anyone else with enough brain to lick an envelope and a stamp lol.

Mail-in rebates are for suckers...it's like loaning a company money that THEY are making interest on...MAYBE you get a check after 9-18 weeks, or whenever they've had your loan in the bank long enough to make back 10x whatever 'discount' they give you on the price!

Well i guess i'm a sucker cause i buy stuff with MIR's all the time and usually make a good size profit reselling the item. Most rebates only take 6-8 weeks or less. Staples rebates usually take 2-3 weeks. Usually the person your sending the rebate to isn't the one you bought the item from anyways. They make their money from the people that are too lazy and forget to send their MIR in on time. In the case of this RAM your not going to find RAM cheaper without a rebate so its not like their raising the price to make up for the rebate. And i'd love to find a bank out there that offered a high enough interest to make back 10x the cost of the rebate in that short period of time .

Thank you... It's because of people who don't use their rebates that rebates exist in the first place. The companies know there are lazy people who can't figure out how to use an envelope and stamp, so they drop the price to get people in the door and well, you know the rest, well anyways a heart felt thank you to the lazy people!!! Your laziness keeps money in my wallet.

Toolbox!

Searching that part number on Google brings up that it's a kit (2x 512MB). That's really the only thing that's kept me from getting some. What's the deal with it? Is it 1x 1GB or 2x 512MB?
