You are entitled to your opinion but personally I think rebates rock.
I have never NOT got my rebate.

This is one rebate per customer/address/household right? I bought a stick with their rebate from october. Could I still buy one more and get the rebate for this one?

just ran across this Kingston 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM Notebook Memory for Dell Inspiron 9300 and Dell Inspiron 6000 for $81.25 at Newegg. I've seen this for $100 just a few weeks ago. Great reviews on Newegg. Only $3.83 for three-day shipping too!

I prefer Dual Channel RAM.
It would be dual channel if you buy two.....

Just got my sticks, plugged em in and it shows up as dual. It's memtesting right now for the past 3 hrs, no errors. Fast bootup times as well!

Dual channel isn't a feature provided by the RAM. Its provided by the motherboard. Any two sticks of RAM have the possibility of running in dual channel mode but usually they have to be the same size/speed/brand/ect.

price drop(again)
$77.85
($67.85 after $10.00 Mail-In Rebate)

BTW u can only use one rebate if you get two sticks
post #31 of 43

If its cheap, does it mean it won't work at rated speeds or what?
I want RAM that works as well at default speeds as the DELL RAM.

This ram is good, it increased bootup speed over the 1 gb that dell had and games run a lot smother. If that is a sign of cheap ram, then yes this ram is cheap. 150 for 2G of Ram isn't bad.

Pric dropped again!

$76.99
Ordered and total was barely over $80, so minus the rebate $70

BTW the rebate expires today!!! Act fast.

I recently purchased virtually the same model, but it's not the samsung chipset and it costs $91.22. Would there be a problem if I used 2 sticks of ram with slightly different specs?

I recently discovered my memory is made by Nanya Technologies...I ran a quick google search but didnt come up with any product or company reviews. So if anyone has information on this company and products, specificaly the pc 4300 1 gig sticks, please share.
i will test with mem test soon and report back
