I am on my second set of Kingston valueram 2gigs. My first two sticks were defective. Kinston did take care of it.
You risk betting bad sticks with cheap ram. Memtest86 is a must test with cheap ram.

I actually purchased 1x Hynix 512mb RAM stick and 1x Micron 512MB RAM stick from ebay. Those are the stock RAM chips along with Samsung that Dell provides. I was planning on purchasing Transcend from Newegg but wasnt sure if Kingstand or OCZ is better. ANy suggestions?? Plus i never have any errors when i run memtest on my current RAM so i guess this stock RAM is good STUFF!

1 GB of Dell to replace one of the 512 MB sticks for a total of 1 1/2 gigs but then decided to go with 2 gigs and ordered 1 GB of Crucial which should be here Wednesday.
The Dell stick was $123.19 after $30.80 off + tax & s&h, total $135.73. The Crucial was $114 from Zipzoomfly.

2x 1GB OCZ memory for my XPS2

Because I can only work with dual channel RAM in a gaming environment, and the only name brand RAM that offers 2GB (1 GB x 2) in dual channel for our laptops is OCZ (www.newegg.com), I went with that.

All PC2-4200 is dual channel as long as they are matching sizes.

2GB Corsair here, got a great deal on them way back when the stuff was expensive as hell, $198 for the pair back in July.

Dual Channel memory requires matched pairs of sticks and they must work on the same timing, voltage, and usually of the same brand (since they are factory tested).
