Keep in mind that "Centrino" is not just the processor, it also depends on what wireless card you have.

If there's no Centrino sticker on it, then it's not a Centrino.

Centrino is actually a group of stuff bunched together:

Processor
Motherboard
RAM
Video card

most importantly
BUILT IN WIRELESS NETWORK CARD
if you dont' have the wireless network card, it's not a centrino.

http://www.intel.com/products/centrino/index.htm

Straight from the horse's mouth - 3 components to make it a Centrino package:
1. Intel Pentium M processor
2. Mobile Intel 915 Express chipset family or Intel 855 chipset family
3. Intel PRO/Wireless Network Connection Family

My 1.6 700m originally came with a Dell 1350 wireless and just showed an intel flash screen on boot but when I replaced it with a 2200 the flash screen changed itself to Centrino badging...uh...w00t.
