Advice needed on a mid-size gaming notebook.

Thread Starter
I first bought Sony S360 it had Radeon 9600, it was nice but because it was so small I found it hard and uncomfortable to use... So I sold it.

Now I bought an IBM T43 with X300. IBM Thinkpads aren’t designed for gaming but X300 does the job ok. I am having quite a lot of annoying issues with the laptop, so I think I will sell it too.

I am looking for a mid-size notebook with GOOD game capabilities. Preferably NOT widescreen. Price range 1000-2000. Let me know what you guys recommend.

Unfortunately most machines are widescreen nowadays, so that'll be difficult. In fact, I don't know off the top of my head a modern gaming machine that isn't.

However, some 15.4" machines with good capabilities are the MSI 1029, the Asus z70va, the Asus z71v, and some of Sager's offerings.

There are lots of 15" gaming laptops out there. Well when I say heaps I mean around 2 or 3 really good ones and alot of medium gaming ones. The Quanta MW1 (PM, 128 6600) is a really good one or if you want ATI you could scrounge around for the Sager 4881/Clevo M400A (PM, 256 X700). Both these machines have good reviews on this site and I would highly recommend both, I am buying myself an MW1 soon because the Australian site that re-sells 4881/m400a are too overpriced.

Hope that helps
