Thread Starter
Algiht bought the m6811 from bestbuy with a 3 year warranty since then I have had cracked hinges sent in fixed. Sent in kept over heating shutting down did nothing sent in once more for media 3 in 1 flash card stuff not working properly fixed.

now 3 months later? cracked hinges AGAIN! media drive only works ever 3 times each time I put it in says it doesn't reconize it put it again and it does.

My mouse every time i shut it down and restart the computer I have to unplug the mouse and then plug it back in for it to be reconized.

Now the damn thing won't burn it says that there is an error with my burner with windows , nero , itunes anything.

Next the damns screen flickers ( I seen the thread to lazy to rip apart the emachine when it is their dutty )

Last but NOT LEAST! I have that stupid over heating problem like very else. I will be NOTHING memory harsh and have it with a cool pad with out a cool pad away from the wall into the wall and the fans will kick into over time and then 3 seconds later shut down. Try to restart does it and 5 seconds later shuts down agian. Just doesn't restart nothing just shuts down.

Getting REALLY sick of this POS notebook. I'm about to whip the damn thing out the window.

I do have another stick of 1 gig ram in here that everyone suggest about 6 months ago and I do have a 7200 RPM HD but that shouldn't be the problem.

I have searched day in and day out and can't find my way through everything so someone post up what you think of these i'm about to call emachine tommrow tell them give me my ****ing money back for this hunk of crap! and just cut my losses now. ( bee 1 year since I bought it but I don't give a crap they will take it back )

My screen flickers like mad. Drives me nuts, but I need the notebook for school and work projects nearly every day. Maybe sometime next month I'll send it back in...yes, the chassis does have some problems, but the trade-off is phenomenal for the power & portability it offers. It sounds like you got a lemon. See if you can exchange yours for a better one.

Next time, I'm getting an Asus or something high-end. I'm somewhat disappointed with the screen problem, but for a $1,300 laptop, what do you expect? If we were really serious about quality, we'd both save up the extra $600 and get something nice like a Thinkpad or a Sager, but as it is, we got a budget powerhouse.

If you've got the Best Buy warranty, take it there, not eMachines. Looks like you're past your 3 repair number, so it hits the lemon rule and qualifies you for whatever 7xxx they're on now.
