Just ordered another 24" WS LCD!!

yup, i just ordered another Dell 2405FPW, a 24 inch widescreen LCD. im on my way to becoming a database developer and i still find i need more real estate, so i think 3840 x 1200 should be enuf now im trying to decide if i should use the new lcd with my desktop or with my notebook. i currently have my desktop connected to my 24", but i was thinking about using a KVM of some sort, or that program that lets you control a pc over the network exactly the same way as a kvm, and connecting the 2nd 24" to my notebook. but is it hard to hook up and disconnect the notebook everyday? does anyone have a setup like this? thx guyz, im really stoked about getting my 2nd LCD

the price was like $959 or something like that? they had a sale which i have been waiting fer, 20% off.. along with free shipping on orders over $50, so the total came to $1040 and some change, which is a steal IMO. i cant wait til it gets here

hehe, u must live in a no tax state :P

do you use one for a desktop and one fer ur notebook? any pictures??

I use one as a TV which I also hook up to my laptop when I am combining notes and case briefs into outlines (law school) - it's also permanently hooked up to an old sort of form factor desktop for sound acceleration. I use the other as the monitor for my gaming desktop.

kewl... i think i figured out what im gonna do since the monitor has so many inputs i think imma connect the DVI port to my desktop for dual monitor use, connect the VGA to my notebook (even tho my notebook has DVI out) and connect my ReplayTV (Tivo's competitor) to the component in. i wish the lcd had 2 DVI inputs tho, hehe.

Make sure you get an HDTV receiver and hook it up. When I first got the monitors there was a big to-do about whether or not they would support HDTV (many said they wouldn't). They do, and it looks great.
