Sager has released a new firmware which will allow you to disable the touchpad and volume comtrols on the audio DJ (no more hitting it with your hand ) and also allows you to throttle the fans between full and auto.

1. New Fn+F1 hotkey function for enabling/disabling Touch Pad and ADJ key

2. New Fn+F2 hotkey function for selecting fan speed full/auto.

Luke , how do you install that firmware

Make a bootable floppy(or CD), copy the files over to the Floppy/CD and reboot the system with that device as 1st boot. Once it boots execute the .bat file included in the .rar and restart when prompted.

There is an option in Nero(which came with your notebook) to make a cd bootable.

Wow.

How did Sager know to do this? Luke, did you tell them? If someone contacted them about this, how long ago was it.

This service really impresses me!

Luke, you make me sad I bought direct from Sager! Why in the $^$^ did they not tell me about this? This was my first non-business laptop (meaning the first I had to buy!) so live and learn I guess. It may be a while but my next will be through PCTorque....and I wont send a personal check :'))

Lol this is just proof that if you complain about an issue enough Sager will fix it. Sager saw that there was an obvious conflict with touchoad/DJ panel and released a fix.... that and i complained about it alot lol.

INSTRUCTIONS

1 Open Nero Express.

2 From the menu options 'What would you like to burn?" select 'Data' and then 'Bootable Data Disc'.

3 From the next screen you can either drag the three files inside of the rar archive that Luke posted or you can click 'Add' and browse for the three files

< the three files you should have extracted are h8-5t2.bat , H8FLASH.exe , and m570h805.t2 >

4 Click 'Next'

5 On the next screen, Nero defaults to 'Use standard boot image'. Leave it there.

6 Click 'Next'

7 Depending if you have the Lightscribe burner or not you may see a label designer page here. If so click 'Next'. If not proceed to step #8.

8 Now you have your burning options. Leave them at defaults unless you know otherwise.

9 Click 'Burn'

10 This concludes burning...

11 Now with the CD still in your drive (you may need to re-insert it after burning), reboot your computer.

12 If your laptop is configured to boot to CD first, proceed to step #13. If not or you aren't sure, proceed to step #15.

13 After the system boots to your CD, it should stop and have a command prompt on drive letter 'A'. Type x: where x is the drive letter of your cd-rom/dvd-rom.

14 Now type dir , which will bring up a list of the files on the CD. Type in the name of the file whose extension is .bat. This will launch the utility and flash your motherboard with the update automatically.

//

15 After rebooting, while the screen still says 'Sager' and has a gray bar at the bottom that says 'Press F2...', press F2

16 Once the BIOS menu has appeared, navigate to the boot options and change your first boot option to your cd-rom/dvd-rom

17 Reboot and proceed to step #13
