Little review on Notepal by Cooler Master

Hi there, I recently bought a notebook cooler : Notepal by Cooler Master, and would like to share my thought with you guys

Basically, as you see in the pictures, the hugh dell XPS 2 cannot totally fit on this tiny little notepal, I can say it is mainly design for 15" regular screen notebook (I don't get why there're not much notebook coolers design for gaming notebook especially widescreen), but XPS 2 can still stand on it pretty rigid. It is well made, with aluminum, can reduce heat more efficiently. The fan is pretty quiet, but I think they can built the fan a little faster. It didn't block any of the media control buttons and either speakers which is a good thing.
So.......... does it really work well? I use our beloved i9kfangui for testing (Using Bios A04), here is the result:
CPU, Before: 42-44 After: 38-41
GPU, Before: 60-? After: 52-58 (depend how fast your laptop fan run)
Remember, both information are measure at normal use, NOT during gaming!
And I can say the biggest difference is the highest temp of GPU, Before: 92 (run 3D mark 2005) After:82!!
The result is pretty impressive, at least to me it is.

Off topic here, I know there're people asking the creative sound card problem, I didn't find any, but somehow it can only recognize 4 speakers (I'm using Yamaha TSS-1 speakers), so everytime I turn on my notebook I have to shift it manually to 5.1............ well, at least it works perfectly so far. About the LCD screen: I got LG, compare to my Toshiba M40, it looks like crap, I'm not saying the light leaking or sparkling issues, but the image detail and color sharpness, when both laptop run screensaver Flurry, you will see the HUGH difference (My Sony LCD have more natural color, even though it is not as sharp as Toshiba) . Personally I think for notebook LCD quality, Toshiba and Fujitsu rule. But I do understand there's no such perfect machines, so I do live with it without complain.
About 3D benchmarks, I got 5118 only, with 81.85 driver, points dropped (before I got around 5180-5210) but perfromance enahnced (in FlightSim 04) I don't play any first person shooting games such as half life, CS and FEAR, cuz those made me feel dizzy.

I think I should post it in review section. Can't believe there's no one reply my post.

Either that or wait more than 30 min for a reply... some of us are working here .

Nice setup, but I agree with your comment about it being a bit small. I don't think I would be interested until they make the "Magnum" so it fits more comfortably .

Hi,

Thanks for the info on the notebook cooler. How about a water cooled base using a pumb lol...bit much. 2 2500 rpm fans aren't meater enough though I think. I saw a home made one on a forum post that had 6 or more well placed fans!

Could alway play on the fridge I suppose

Nice set up as well. Should of been a screen shot of BF2 though

I know which home made fan you're mentioning (the one with cats in the pics right?), if there's something like that I will go for it. I tried the BF2, it is really fan, but as I said, I can't stand those first person shooting games that makes me feel so sick. BTW, I have a cat too.

I have the same cooler for my 9300 and I find it works very well. I removed the mesh screening covering the fans to maximize airflow. I also like the way it props up my machine and the aluminium compliments the silver of the laptop well. I recommend it

Hey Sayakawill My laptop is on my lap most of the time so laptop coolers dont do anything for me but... I had to say that I really like your setup.

It is the Saitek p3000 wireless controller, works pretty well. So far I have no problem with it. You can go to www.saitek.com and see for details
