ATI Mobility Catalyst 5.11 Released!

It's released, but if only could someone find the god-dang link to it? Currently ATI only links to a stupid software verification program....

[UPDATE] Here's the link http://www.ati.com/online/mobilecatalyst/
post #2 of 42
thats because the software verification tool downloads it for you if it supports your laptop.
However it doesnt seem to support the cl56, so, oh well.

Actually it does, ATI just doesnt officially support it. I've been using the official release since ATI Mobility Catalyst 5.8. Has anyone found the HTTP link to that driver yet? If so post it!

here is the direct download link http://www.ati.com/online/mobilecatalyst/

at least I think it works for 5.11
That link downloaded the 5.10.
it's the only link I have I'm afraid. I've downloaded both 5.09 and 5.10 from that link though.

Maybe they haven't uploaded the files yet

edit: Ops, sorry. wrong link. didn't find it.

https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...e&folderID=293 Try this one. You'll have to mod it for notebooks using DHmodtool or the like.

EDIT: Sneaky little devils. On the left side click Drivers and Software\Windows XP\Radeon\Previous Drivers and Software. Then select the 5.11. Earliest I've seen a new driver posted here.

Dont use the MobilityDrivers because they are CCC, mod the desktop drivers with DHModTool V3... CCC uses about 60MB more memory, CP has to be connected to internet and is ****ing slow and u have to install NetFramework...
I'm using the current catalyst and so I have .net Framework. I don't understand why you say that the CP has to be connected to the internet though.

Anyone found the link or not yet?

Has anybody actually figured out the difference between the mobility and desktop drivers? The desktop drivers even have little pictures of notebooks and have entries for "Laptop display panel" and such.

Anyhow, about the mobility drivers, I'll care when they run on more than 1% of notebooks :P

Hmmm.... So nobody can find the dang link?

I heard only X1800 series will benefit from 5.11 drivers not older models!! So I'LL just upgrade when omegas come out.

Didnt I just mention that? "Dont use the MobilityDrivers because they are CCC, mod the desktop drivers with DHModTool V3... CCC uses about 60MB more memory, CCC CP has to be connected to internet and is ****ing slow and u have to install NetFramework..."

Stupid question, what's "DHModTool V3." Is there a thread or something about it. Also, what's with the CCC CP needing to connect to the WWW, installing .Net Framework, and the 60M memory footprint anyway? Thanks.

DHModTool is a mod tool that allows u to install normal desktop drivers to your mobilitycard: http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/

And whats what? It just the way it is...

I don't use the CCC. In fact all I do is install the driver file itself and then I use ATI Tray Tools to do the rest... Cheers...

Do you guys think that there is a performance difference between the mobility and the desktop catalyst drivers?

Actually what is the difference between the two?

For the third time, "CCC uses about 60MB more memory, CCC ControlPanel has to be connected to internet and is ****ing slow and u have to install NetFramework..." and mobility drivers are CCC...
