As the title states...this company is giving NVIDIA and ATI a run for their money...I'm excited for the capabilities of their mobile line of products...

A good graphics card will be born if nVidia and ATI merge.

No thanks. We need those two companies competing with each other so that the prices stay, well, competitive.

I'd smell an anti-trust suit if they merged.

There are still other companies they could compete with. Like XGI and Matrox and there are others also.

It was just a thought. It would be a card that is good in openGL and Direct3D

Who said ATI and NVidia were merging? I don't see anything to that effect anywhere. And yes, it would invite serious anti-trust action. But there's nothing to it that I can find.

Back on topic, I've seen XGI elsewhere and its a heck of a card, easily good competition to whatever ATI and NVidia have to offer. The company appears very solid and should be able to keep pace with the leaders as well as lead themselves. They are already showing significant innovation.

It was a thought that I had because nVidia is good with OpenGL but bad with DirectX and ATI is good with DirectX but bad with OpenGL. Therefore if they became one company they can put the ideas together and make one good card.

Didn't help anything when nVidia squashed 3DFX

Nah, Not to beat the de@d horse. But competition is a good thing for the consumer (meaning us), especially in the computer/tech industry. It keeps companies always trying to get the better edge over the other and you see alot more develoupment than you would see rather than just "one" company of its type.

Now I wish that someone would be really able to compete with Windows. Mac's are now considered to be the "multi-media" machine and not much more. Linux is starting to open up to a more vast majority, but I don't see them as being the OS you would give to "Joe Shmoe", who is the average computer user down the road, not at least in the next five years.

Anyway, that's my two cents (or whacks?) on the horse.
