paraphrased: Dual graphics cards each equipped with a pair of graphics chips and 512MB (256MB per GPU) of GDDR3 memory. *experimental* Trekkminster paraphrased it better though.

DB769,

I noticed in your signature you have an FX-53 and a prominate OVERCLOCKED. How much OC are you able to get from your 53 and what does it bench? My system with one 6800U only benches 5973 in 3DMark05. I'm asking cause I'm not sure I want to invest more money in my FX-53 system if it cant bench significantly better.

I was thinking about this. I mean, its like one the biggest jumps in technology (dare say, ever). you realize that this isnt a gradual step up from current technology like we normally see. you know, the next vid card is a little bit better than the last. and then the next one comes... and so on and on... This experiment is basically Double the existing best that is available today.

That I agree with. I am drooling over one of those not much for gaming but for 3D work .

Lets the first guy that comes here asking how overclockable it is.....

This could be very cool... imagine the games that would use this. I still don't know why a dual core GPU hasn't been done yet, could be big in the laptop market.

Heard some people like Gigabyte are working on dual core NV6600 and NV6800 GPU's so my guess is that they may show for mobile systems sometime later on by the second half of 2006 or the first half of 2007.

By seeing the above I guess that we will be seeing an SLI set up sporting four dual core GPU's.

Of course, you will need a huge bank account, monster power supply, monster case, monster cooling, monster memory and a monster processor(s) to be able to handle that. Most probably you will have to go with a dual core CPU or two.

Anyone up to the challenge to make one of these monsters once they come up?

did someone say dual-core GPU's in 4xSLi????

Actually I mentioned the possibility of two dual core GPUs in two SLI cards should they decide to make a card like that, so that would be four dual core GPUs which will be the equivalent of having eight GPUs on a single computer to make 3D Mark cry.....
