Does anyone know anywhere besides Alienware.com to buy area 51m2 batteries and/or drives? I don't want to spend that much money. Also does anyone know what type of plug is compatable with the AC outlet (I.E.: Sony, HP, etc.) Thanks

Batteries are only from AW for now, it usually takes the third part batery vendors about 12 months to get generic batteries. Some of the battery vendors on the net have older Uniwill batteries, but for now AW is your vendor.

For drives, I am not sure if you mean CD or Hard drive? But hard drives are very generic for laptops, the AW and others take a standard 2.5" drive. The drives used by AW are Hitachie lines, which you can also find badged under IBM as the "travelstar." These will all have 8mb of cash and 5400 or 7200RPM or better spin rates.

The A/C adapter is actually a common plug type, but not common to notebooks. I find the DIN 4 plug used on the AW standard to many external devices like external hard drives and such. The plug in fact is so common you can locate the end at Radio Shack if needed. That being said you could easily fashion your own power supply. The difficuly would be sourcing the supply itself sine the AW uses a great deal more power than most notebooks.
