Hi after looking around my graphics options I noticed the "hide modes that this monitor cannot support" check box and found that I make a display bigger the original sizes listed.
It was neat using the expand desktop option onto a crt set to 1920x1200 (above the max listed resolution)
But I found this when looking around the net:
"Choosing a resolution and/or refresh rate which your monitor doesn't support will result in an 'Out of Frequency' or 'No Signal' error and possible damage to your monitor."

Can you really damage a laptop or external display by running it above the recommend resolutions?
Thanks
