Guys please help

hi,

i have this movie on my laptop it's about 8gigs and i'm trying to burn in on a dvd disc however it's max is only 4.5gigs, is there a way to compress it using nero dvd burner?

if you have a dual layer in your dvd drive you can burn the hole 8gigs using dvd+r dl media,if not you should download dvd shrink(free software) and its easy to use .

Assuming you are trying to copy (or should that be backup) a DVD then DVD Shrink as suggested by Super KW is the best bet (Open up the files/DVD shrink them and burn)...

If this is not the case then with a few more details then we can probably help.

trying to compact an 8gig into a 4gig....the files is on my computer already i cannot do shrink copy [because it's illegal].

what else can i do with nero?

You'll have th split it over 2 DVDs or re-encode it into a lower quality.

ok dont do the illegal things, DL dvd+r is the best thing now

Movies are 8 Gigs??

ye cos they arent encoded in mpeg 1 video most probably mpeg 4
