I went to the gateway store as well. Wonderful notebook. There is only two things I would change:

1. Multi-format +/- dvd burner
2. Higher resolution screen (i am too used to WUXGA on my M60)

Omega Drivers.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask anyone of you that owns a m675, if you have been able to successfully use the Omega drivers in you machine. I have not had any luck. While I am very pleased to own the m675, I am very upset at the fact that Gateway ghas not released an updated driver. We are now 3 revisions behind in Catalyst revisions and equally as far behind Alienware and Sager OEM releases. While my machine has repeatedly beat my buddies 8890 at every bench mark test we've compared (not to mention quality and style) there is a problem with DX9 under games such as Halo that can only be remedied with the current Catalyst distribution. Since Gateways tech support is their achellies heel, I have to turn to Google and this forum for help. Please if you are not using Omega drivers but have another suggestion post a reply.

Thanks,

at the risk of blowing up your machine, have you thought about borrowing drivers from sagers website for their 17" inch laptop and giving it a whirl? I would back up the machine before trying this and also I take no resposibility if you damage it in any way.

Hmmmmm

I ordered mine a week ago and these are some quick tips before ordering:
- If possible ship to a state that has no Gateway houses and get it there. Reason: No Gateway house = no tax.
- When building your setup do a side-by-side comparision w/ small business and commercial (regular) to see the price difference and then order that one.
- When building keep in mind you CAN customize this laptop anyway you want. The X and XL are preconfigured, however, the CS is the customizable one.
- In the CS setup there is a 4X +-(multi-format) DVD Burner where in the X and XL there is a 2X - format burner.

Any other questions ask away. I have no clue on what the problem is w/ the catalyst drivers are. L8R!

675XL and Omega Drivers

I have had my 675XL for about 2 weeks and love it. I just installed the Omega Radeon drivers and they work great.

I was also able to set the scale image to panel size in the panel properties in the display properties so that games would not stretch.

M675 screen

I have had my M675XL for 2 weeks and am now experiencing flickering and my screen going black if I move or lift my computer. Has anyone else experienced this?
