It's just a wonder, I'm satisfied with level 6 for most of the times, while some people complain about not being bright enough at level 8. Despite the slight difference between sumsung and LG, I wanna see what most people are satisfied with their brightness levels. Level 8 being the brightest

thx

I always keep mine on the brightest setting whether I'm on battery or plugged in.

Level 8 because life is too short to have a dim screen.

WOW, this really surprises me so far, I was expecting somewhere between 5-7, now it makes me wonder what's the point of haveing levels 1-5, ok if there is a level 9 or 10, would you guys still go for it? 8 is already way too bright for me

Level 8 seems perfect to me, but that's probably just because I'm so use to it. Anything below levels 5-6 just seems too dim.

I think 8 is plenty bright. I am on AC all of the time so battery life is not an issue. If there were a level 9 or 10, I would probably still use brightness level 8. It seems just right for my lighting conditions.

You really need to separate it out between Samsung and LG. The Samsung is quite a bit brighter. I imagine all LG owners are on a maximum brightness level.

ok even if there is a difference between LG and Samsung, I don't think it's as much as a brightness level, it'd probably be half a level or less.

Is there such thing as native brightness level? I never felt like putting on level 8, but for so many of you who's constantly at maximum, aren't you afraid of over stressing your LCD?

it's really not that bright even at level 8.
whenever i run my games, the screen gets brighter, so I know it can get brighter, but it doesn't...

having had two i9300 sitting side by side with LG and Samsung WUXGA screen,
I noticed the LG screen at level 8 is about the same as a samsung at level between 5 and 6.
so at times LG isn't bright enough even at level 8, and i'm happy with my samsung sitting at level 6 most of the time.

you gotta be kidding me, if Samsung at level 8 is the same as LG at level 5, then LG would be gone out of business long ago, dell also wouldn't accept that much of a product variation. i think in your case, the LG might be a defect or refurb, shouldn't represent all LGs. I have Samsung, so you know i'm not trying to protect LG for whatever reason, if LG is truely a bit dimmer, it wouldn't be as much as 3 levels, and it also has to be better in something else, LG and Samsung have different technologies, they both have pros and cons

LG@lv8 is a tad dimmer than a Samsung@lv6. LG do produce superior colors though, actually it's not that bad as samsung@lvl6 is bright enough and IMO samsung@lv8 is a bit washed out, but it works great in a brightly lit room, while LG screens usually look much better in a darker room.

overall i'll pick samsung if i had to choose one, but if LG has level10 brighness level it would be perfect and own samsung in every ways.

I put on level 5 when the room is totally dark, 'cause 6 really hurt my eyes when the room is dark.

26 people have it on level 8, this is so unexpected, omg
