your uxga is 30 ms?
yes
i would like it to be faster but them's the breaks
post #5 of 20
Yeah, the UXGAs on the 5680s are 30ms, and the standard is 50ms, which isnt good for gaming at all.

Dont know if this applies to the 4780 tho.

Are there any other laptop LCD's with faster response times??

If there are then why isnt Sager using them?

I doubt there are...what is the response time of the Alienware/Dell/Sony LCD's ?? Anyone got Data?? Because i'd like to see some data before I classify anything as "SLOW" or "FAST"

i don't know. the screen is great and you get used to the ghosting after a while.
its not really bad
There is no ghosting on the 5680
yes there is
Not everyone can notice it...or no one bothers to or no one knows what to look for. If you are overly sensitive then its your problem

If there is something called ghosting - I have NO IDEA what it is because I cant see anything on my screen thats telling me that its crapped...

whats ur definition of ghosting if there is?
^ see what I mean??
ghosting is just smearing caused by response time latency
i took a video but its hard to see in it. ill post it if you want
it doesn't bother me any more and as you can tell from my past posts im fairly picky

Hey, actualy I am pleased about this becuase I asked adam@pct and he told me that the monitor on the 4780 has a 25ms response time!
Thats great for me because the monitor I am using at my house is 25ms and thats not bad, makes the peoples names blury when playing subspace but thats about all i can notice!

it does seem kind of wierd for a plain wxga to have a 25ms response time but im not complaining!

How can you tell what response time your monitor or LCD has??
One way is to search for 'response time' and go through the threads.

Latest I have is:
15" 30ms response, 200 cd/m2 brightness, 400:1 contrast, +/- 85 degree viewing angle

16" 50ms response, 150 cd/m2 brightness, 250:1 contrast, +/- 40 degree viewing angle

17" 25ms response, 160 cd/m2 brightness, 300:1 contrast, +/- 60 degree viewing angle

Cair- the 15" UXGA is 25ms..

Well, how can you find out the response time of ANY LCD? I'm just curious what mine is for my desktop lcd (Mitsubishi DiamonPoint NX85)
A google search is always the first place to start..

tried that... found nothing. I even looked up the manual and the offical PDF file for the thing and found nothing...
