Yes these don't need a special *.inf if you get the mobile ones from the Nvidia website or quicker to find them on the ftp site. The mobile drivers will support the 6600, 6800 and 7800 if I remember right. Laptopvideo2go had the 81.85 and 81.87 out so fast I never checked the ftp to see if they would work.
ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/81.94/

I will reinstall when the better *.inf from Laptopvideo2go as the regular *.inf with coolbits gives me 18 points lower on 3DMark05. I also like the VMR option. Hopefully the compressed size drivers and new *.inf will be up tonight or tomorrow.

Anyone notice random choppiness after installing these .94 drivers?

The other night, while playing F.E.A.R., all of a sudden everything got REAL choppy. Then, after about 15 seconds, buttery smooth again. This would happen randomly as I played it. Never happened before.

Plopped in Quake IV, same thing: tried Half Life 2, same thing again.

So, checked to make sure no spyware or adware was on my pc. Everything is clean.

Thought that maybe the Audigy 2ZS I just added a couple of days ago, maybe had a driver problem but, why now? Ran great for a day or 2.

So, I yanked out the .94's and went back to the last good working drivers I had: 85's.

Of course, I then notice that I didn't have my laptop cooler on and thought that maybe the 6800 Ultra in this 9880, was borderline overheating before. But then again...why now? Always ran well, even without a cooler. Grills seem to be clean on the side of it.

Anyhoo...with the cooler on and the .85's installed, it's running great. No random choppiness. I'm thinking it was a problem with the video drivers.

funny u should mention choppy while playing fear. i installed it not to long ago and decided to play it yesterday night, (with .94 drivers) and i experienced choppines right when i get to roam free. i thought it was because i was runnig some resource hogging apps. i am going to try fear again...hhmmmmm.

I had the choppiness with FEAR and 81.94, and it also kept crashing. Went back to 81.89 from laptopvideo2go and everything runs nice.

You have to go into the forum under "Release 80's" Release date was Ocotber 28. For some reason they don't have them with the rest of the drivers.

The 81.94 moblie drivers supported the 6600, 6800, and 7800. Not sure about the 81.95 as I used the regular drivers and the *.inf from laptopvideo2go.

Well you would have to download the the drivers, extract the files and then open the *.inf file. But I have easier way to verify it, the *.pdf file of the release notes.
ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/81...ease_Notes.pdf

Do a serach for 6800 and you will see what I am talking about.

This was true when the 81.94 first hit the download site but if you download them now they only support the 7800 Go. I wish I would of kept a copy of them I sure could use them now.

If you use the ftp site, the ones without whql should are still the original ones.
