satellite p15 s409 new hdd install help

i purchased a new 7k60 hitachi 7200 rpm hdd for my laptop, when i installed it and tried to boot up my notebook it turned itself right off. no time to even get to the bios screen. anybody have any info to help??

I would first put on a jumper to force the drive to be set to master. It may have itself set to be cable-select or the only drive.
