it shows the 15" option. PCT shows the 15" option and configured with 2 gb ram. That is way so much cheaper than i was expecting to pay for two 1 gb sodimms! yi-hoo!

Duh... on my part...

I just checked the Sager sie and not PCTORQUE.

The EE chip - OUCH.

Memory - Not too bad!!

Might bite on this??

makes me wish i waited

Eh... whats the point?? Are games REALLY going to run faster on the 3.2 P-4EE than the 3.2 P-4?? It still uses the same video card, so really games aint going to run faster. So whats the point besides having an overpriced piece of hardware???

I'm still waiting for the 8790!

games for the most part are limited by the gpu
other applications will perform better like photochop and premier and maya
post #8 of 26
any idea if we will be able to buy these 1gb ram chips individually? maybe trade in old and prices... course i know i have to replace both chips so might have to wait a bit.... to get another gig of memory...
hmm. i wonder if there'll be an upgrade for existing 8890ers. maybe by next summer i will be able to afford the ram upgrade.

I dont use Premier or Maya...... so the P4-EE is pointless.........

Why couldnt Sager work on an Athlon 64?!?! At least it would have better battery life and nice performance.

Biggest advantage that I can see is rendering the videos when converting them from one format to another. It takes a lot of resources and the extra memory, "buffer", and HT coupled together should allow the process to run in less time and NOT require a "Hands Off" approach while the process in underway. My current 1.7Ghz P4 Desktop can be "tied up" for 20+++++ hours doing these type of things. Oh Well!!!!
any application will benifit from the extra cache
post #13 of 26
couldn't we all benifit from extra "cache?" lol
post #14 of 26
If we could get a whole lot of cache for less cash - then yes!!
Now we just need to get a clevo-based A64 system, eh?

voodoo offers one

Hypersonic has an Athlon 64 notebook too, the AX6 they call it. Looks OK but inferior to the others.

Personally I think the Pentium 4:EE is not a big deal. Yeah, the cache helps, but I wouldn't consider it something to get worked up on. The larger RAM is nice for professional artists, though the other systems already supported it anyway -- you'd just have to buy and install it yourself. Right?
Voodoo one is crap... Only a 64Meg M10-P and its expensive!! If it had the upcoming M11, I might actually consider it.
Exactly, myrkat. If PCTorque had Athlon64's and they were cheap, that'd be awesome.
