RAM upgrade for AMILO 3438

Hi I am about to buy an AMILO 3438 (M-760 2.0Ghz) with 1GB RAM(2x512) as it is the only one in stock. However I require it with 2GB RAM. What specs should I order the RAM with? Would I need to buy 2x1024 and scrap the 512's or can i buy 1x 1024 and add it on? Is installation easy, can I do it myself or would opening computer invalidate guarantee on Fujitsu notebooks? Thanks guys. Need this beast extremely urgently as I'm going abroad real soon and need it for work.

You only have two slots, so for 2Gb you'd need 2 x 1Gb sticks.

The RAM type is "DDR2", running at either 400MHz (PC3200) or 533MHz (PC4200) clock frequencies.

So you need 2 x 1Gb DDR2 400MHz, or 2 x 1Gb DDR 533MHz sticks.

Thanks, and does it matter if RAM is ECC or non-ECC?

no, it doesn't matter.

I have 2 x 1024Mb 533MHz sticks in my set up that are non -eec - from ebuyer.co.uk
