Try looking at some Sager 9880's benchmarks. That should be a good indication of the scores, since both of the barebones are done by Clevo.

I have a notebook M7700 3.4GHz P4 650 with the Go 7800 GTX. 3DMark05 clocks in at around 6400s. I was a little disappointed actually.

I'm guessing you are looking for AMD since you said m7700 (maybe you ment area-51, not sure). I benched mine, results are one thread under this one. Also check out the thread in notebook general for some 3DMark06 scores. Yang has a great list going there.

I have that, and out of the box I got 6802, and once I put all my support crap on ( G15 keyboard, Internet, etc) I dropped to around 6784 give or take a point.

When I was using an Alienware M7700 with an FX-60, 1GB, and a Go7800GTX, I got about ~7,080 in 3DMark05, and almost 4,100 in 3DMark06. I posted a review of it over at another site.

Yeah and 5597 PCMark05 while you're at it...I read the review by ChazMan421...very thorough.

My new Aurora came in at low 6800s out of the box with 79.31 driver. With the new 84.20, I clocked in in the 7100s. I have an Aurora with FX60 2GB ram.

I was looking at this but couldn't find any feedback on how it handles different applications.

I do alot of gaming as well as 3D and 2D work, I normally do everything on my workstation at home, but since my classes are getting more advanced I would really like to have a laptop and was looking at this. Any thoughts on this, has anyone used this laptop for this type of stuff and what was the outcome compared to a traditional desktop.

With tweaks you can easily achieve 8200 3dMark05. I achieved 8100+ with my sager 5720, with a pentium m 780 clocked at 2.5Ghz and the same 7800 gtx go that the m7700's have. With the increase in cpu power, with tweaking I would say you can get 8200ish. Now, you can see how they are doing in the 3dmark06 realm on Yang's thread in the general section. The amd x2/fx machines deffinitely have an advantage over the pm's.

I should get my sager 9750 (same as aurora m7700) soon, and I will do a very in depth review and comparison of it and my 5720.

ps: they do very well in graphics and art work/design
just as good as a desktop of same specs plus you can't get a 17" widescreen monitor for a desktop that has 1920x1200 resolution

How do you overclock a Pentium M? I didn't know there were any apps that could do that, or doews Alienware allow you to do it in the BIOS? I'd love to OC my Duo 1.66, but I don't think it's possible on a Dell. Nice scores BTW! I'd like to see some comparisons between the higher clocked Duo's vs the AMD X2's, I bet they're close(though obviously the AMD is going to beat the Duo).

yea i got 6758 for a benchmark using 3dmark05
post #14 of 14
my system is here and i posted my benchmarks already. but if it helps, i just used the out of box 79.31 drivers and got 5557 pcmark05, 6839 3dmark05 (5667 cpu) and 3946 3dmark06 (1974 cpu,1530 sm2,1519 hdr).

Apparently the conventional wisdom if ya really wanna bump your scores is to go no higher than the 84.21 drivers, but i dont wanna tackle that just yet.

battlefield 2 at 1450x1050, call of duty 2 at 1600x1200, doom3 at 1600x1200 all with full eye candy play smooth as silk, with ts2 and xfire and other stuff running at same time.

Still waiting for details on availability and compatibility for GeForce Go 7900 GTX with CLevo D900K mobo, but AW aint talkin yet Expect a slight power jump with a 20-30% score increase based on everything I've seen so far out of Nvidia and others on the topic, though.
