Is alienautopsy and respawn worth it? - Page 2

IMHO: No

My system came misconfigured, long story see review, and so even for the full re-install and format Respawn was of no use. Autopsy, well I have had the same error message pop up every start up since the re-install after purchase and each time Autopsy says it logs it and sends Alienware a memo. I have never gotten an e-mail follow up on that or any other error it logs. <shrug> At the time I ordered it Respawn and Autopsy came at no additional charge so I don't mind. But I certainly would never add it as a purchased option on a future order.

My $.02

The last word rules...

Don't stop now you two... I can't speak for respawn but ALWAYS go with AlienAutopsy as it alerts you to problems that might otherwise go unnoticed and untreated! But it can and will cause troubles under certain circumstances, yet I've never run into anything too dire with it! Troubleshooting XP, without it, is like trying to discover America when there are already a sh*tload of people living there !!!

the Sad truth is that the Alienware Autopsy Program is not worth getting. In theory, it is an excellent idea but never fully implemented. The actual software used for the Autopsy Program can create an unstable environment when using various other software and can announce a false system crash where one does not exist. and is some cases can be the main cause of system problems. But the software used for the Alien Autopsy program can give a system owner a huge amount of technical data, that is stored within its program files. You have the ability to generate a system report which is supposed to be sent to Alienware for diagnostics. If the data in that report interests you then you might still want to get this program but keep in mind, this bug catcher can be a bug. Even though its sold as an automated Alienware support program, I would pass.

The Alien Respawn has mixed reviews here in the forums. Just like in this thread, some like it but some have recieved faulty images that are useless. A useless image cant be replaced because the image is made during your systems custom build. I would personally get the Alien Respawn.
